As a person, I’m pretty indecisive when it comes to some things and I admit to that. But when I want something I’ll go and get it. I believe being part of a business high school has influenced my orientation of decisions. Coming into high school I had no idea what I wanted to become. I had already changed career choices about three times and it was time I stuck to one. I’ve always known that business was the pathway I wanted to take. It wasn’t until I became involved with a marketing radio class that I became passionate about it. Consistently coming up with ideas to attract people to listen to our weekly shows was always a workload but I absolutely loved it. I didn’t think that I’d eventually find something I could enjoy doing as a career but then I did.

Then it came to making a decision for college. I never thought going to college would actually happen for me. It was always talked upon but in my eyes, it was just an illusion. Now with the opportunity to pursue an education in business I have the goal of working at a marketing company to become a chief marketing officer. I want to go into the company knowing what areas they could need more strength and bring my abilities to fix the problem.

Good communication within the team and meeting deadlines is what I can bring to the company. Being co-director of my KSBM radio team I was the one dealing with my peers. Directing the team was what I was good at. Especially when all they wanted to do was give up. There I was pushing everyone to continue and finish the job. Being disorganized stresses me out so I never let that happen with our team. Sometimes procrastination hits however, I ALWAYS finish work before the deadline.

Working with others and helping people has always been a passion of mine. I hope to one day become part of a foundation that helps third world countries. Or, hopefully, one day I’m able to establish my own non-profit organization. I’d offer internships to students studying marketing to market the organization as well as those practicing medicine to travel to communities to provide medical services. Marketing internships would promote the information and educate people in what ways they can help those in need around the world.

I know that all of these goals won’t get done if I don’t work for them. With hard dedication, I am committed to working hard in school to fulfill my dreams and make them a reality. At the end of my journey, I hope that I can say “I did it.”
